Ready for your next warm-up

Five minutes. One useful strategy.

Free mental math activities for teachers, tutors and families. Open a preset, explain one method, and let learners practise privately. No roster, account or public individual scoreboard.

Print or use your browser’s “Save as PDF”. QR codes are generated by QuickMath, with no external QR service.

  1. Minute 1 · Model. Demonstrate one strategy aloud using an example below.
  2. Minutes 2–3 · Practise. Open or scan a preset. Untimed learners can stop after a few questions; finishing is optional.
  3. Minutes 4–5 · Reflect. Ask “Which strategy helped?” Compare with your own work, not another learner’s score. Repeat the setup in a later lesson with fresh questions.

Table anchors

Start with 2, 5 and 10. Explain an anchor fact, then try ten questions.

6 × 5 = 30; 6 × 10 = 60. What changes when the factor doubles?

Split a product

Split tens and ones before multiplying. Prioritise accuracy over speed.

37 × 6 = 30 × 6 + 7 × 6 = 180 + 42 = 222.

Mixed baseline

A one-minute mixed round. Compare privately with the same setup next time.

74 + 38 = 74 + 30 + 8 = 112. Estimate before submitting.

Classroom mode: no analytics, replays, heatmaps, saved game history or score submissions. Hosting/security logs still apply. Stay on /classroom links. Other QuickMath pages use standard privacy settings.

Keyboard: digits to enter, Enter to submit, Backspace to edit, S to skip; or use the on-screen keypad. Every correct answer is one point. Wrong answers and skips do not subtract points. Accuracy includes skips. This is practice, not a formal assessment.

Adapt it to your learners

Each preset opens real controls: change the operation, fixed or adaptive difficulty, timer, and tables 2–12. Open “Reuse or share this setup” to copy your customised classroom link. It preserves settings—not questions, scores or identity. No school, class or student name is needed.

For comparable sessions keep the same fixed difficulty, time format and selected tables. Adaptive sessions deliberately change difficulty and should not be used for a like-for-like speed comparison.

Keep the activity accessible

Offer Untimed 10 without pressure to finish. Model a method before playing, let learners explain aloud or work on paper, and use keyboard or touch. Never require a public score, real name or challenge link. QuickMath does not replace accommodations, teaching or assessment.

Print a practice worksheet with ten questions and an optional matching answer key on a separate page. Choose fixed difficulty and print on A4 or Letter, or use your browser's Save as PDF.

A small, respectful pilot

Try one activity with a willing teacher or tutor for two sessions. Ask whether setup was easy, whether the example helped, and whether they would reuse it. Record aggregate feedback only—no names, ages, answer logs or student screenshots. Follow school policies before classroom use.

Useful pilot signals: the educator uses the link again, changes a preset for a real lesson, or voluntarily shares the kit with another educator. We do not track individual classroom learners to measure these signals.
